Saar-Hunsrück Climb Hiker Bus

The Hiker Bus (Wanderbus) provides hikers with numerous possibilities for combining bus and hiking trail. They can park their cars near one of the bus stops, then hike on the Saar-Hunsrück Climb and at the end of the leg ride back with the bus to their cars. Or they can take the Wanderbus from the parking area to the start of the chosen leg and then hike back on the Saar-Hunsrück Climb to their cars.

Again in 2010, the Hiker Bus (Wanderbus) will operate for you on the Saar-Hunsrück Climb and take you to the hiking leg of your choice. More detailed information on the bus schedule and the bus stops will soon be available on this page.

Saar-Hunsrück Climb Hiker Bus - Your shuttle for day legs

From Good Friday, April 2, 2010, through November 1, 2010 (holiday), the hiker bus (Wanderbus) will operate again along the Saar-Hunsrück Climb Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays between the bus stop "Cloef" in Mettlach-Orscholz and the bus stop "Nonnweiler Dorfplatz" [village square] in Nonnweiler. You have the opportunity of hiking the Saar-Hunsrück Climb within this area in day legs. Numerous possibilities are available for combining bus and hiking trail:

  • You can park your car near one of the bus stops, then hike on the Saar-Hunsrück Climb and at the end of the leg ride back with the bus to your car.
  • You can park your car near one of the bus stops, then take the Wanderbus to the start of your leg and then hike on the Saar-Hunsrück Climb back to your car.
  • You can take the train to the station in Mettlach, walk about 0.3 mi/500 m to the bus stop "Mettlach Schiffsanlegestelle," take the hiker bus from there to any bus stop and then, after the hike on the Saar-Hunsrück Climb to another bus stop, take the hiker bus back from a different bus stop to Mettlach.
