The Hochwald Path lives up to its name. Over a distance of 7.2 mi/12 km, all a delight for hikers, the route leads over narrow natural paths and right through the most varied forest formations. The special highlight is the Herber Hole, an old stone quarry which over the years has developed into a gorgeous lake. Hikers can rest on the shore and enjoy the quiet of the forest to the fullest. The mix of bizarrely romantic brook valleys, steep ascents, one of unadulterated nature, and a unique vista across the entire northern Saarland makes the Hochwald Path an interesting tour of discovery.
The Hochwald Path was assessed with 62 adventure points by the German Hiking Institute.
