Narrow paths through grand forests alternate with paths on open fields and beautiful vistas into the Hochwald and the Ruwer Valley. Closed slate and iron mines along the trail bear witness to earlier times. The view down to the town and the Sommerau castle ruin, the Marienlay Castle, and the Riveris Valley Reservoir are the high points of the hike. The trail is linked to the Saar-Hunsrück Climb and runs along the border between Morscheid and the neighboring towns.

The trail is being certified by the German Hiking Institute. The trail has been certified by the German Hiking Institute as a premium trail.

Starting point:

Parking at Schweinspielhütte in Morscheid (for navigation: Hauptstrasse 42, 54317 Morscheid, past the sports grounds 985 ft/300 m further to parking at Schweinspielhütte), from there a walk of about 820 ft/250 m to the Morscheid Border Trail - Saar-Hunsrück Climb
