The trail joins the town of Greimerath on the Rhineland-Palatinate side with Bergen on the Saarland side of the state border. It leads over mostly narrow paths through the typical dense forests of the Hochwald but also offers magnificent vistas again and again onto Greimerath and the surrounding fields. And it doesn't simply run close to nature through the remarkable Ochsenwiese Nature Preserve but also over historical ground where the remains of the Siegfried Line and the remains of a Roman settlement are recognizable.

The trail is being certified as a Dream Loop by the German Hiking Institute.
