This challenging leg leads across some ascents and descents. The steep ascent to the reservoir is negotiated mostly via stairs steps. At the top, the first view looks out over the lake and then the Planets Information Trail. The way leads parallel to the walkway around the lake on a path with frequent magnificent vistas onto the reservoir. The ascent to the Celtic fortifications goes over a forest path. The stone walls of the largest Celtic fortifications in Central Europe are up to 33 ft/10 m high. For those interested in inspecting the wall, there is a walk with numerous information boards. The way continues on the isolated route across the ridge of the Dollberge hills through greatly diverse forest formations, frequently interrupted by clearings. The descent into the valley passes the "Tiroler Stein" with its exciting legend. Past the Ochsenbruch, an isolated moor, the challenging ascent finally reaches the summit of the Erbeskopf, the highest summit in Rhineland-Palatinate, 2,677 ft/816 m high. From there, the wide vista reaches into the Eifel. The descent goes down to the Hunsrück House with exhibitions and diverse leisure facilities.
