Leg 9: Kempfeld - Idar-Oberstein
The leg begins with one of the high points of the Saar-Hunsrück Climb: the passage, 1.9 mi/3 km long, from Wildenburg Castle to the Mörschied Burr offers everything a successful hike should have: Wildenburg Castle, lovely paths, age-old trees and forests, bizarre rock formations, and the Mörschieder Burr with its fields of boulders, and fantastic panoramas.
