Leg 1: Orscholz - Mettlach - Britten

The trail begins spectacularly with the magnificent view onto the famous Saar Bend. It then winds over paths with ever new panoramas down into the Saar Valley to Mettlach, where the hiker can see the "Earth Spirit," the largest ceramic puzzle in the world, the 1,000-year-old "Old Tower," and the Old Abbey with the Ceramic Museum of Villeroy & Boch and the atmospheric park. The winding trail continues over natural paths on a ridge with lovely view over the Saar Valley near Saarhölzbach. The path descends into the bizarrely romantic Saarhölzbach Valley, where the trail winds almost exclusively over narrow paths through the narrow valley of the Saarhölzbach.
