Day 1: Arrival Perl

Day 2: Perl - (Eft-)Hellendorf

about 20 km
The trail leads through the wine village of Perl on to the nature preserve Hammelsberg and past the Roman villa in Borg to Hellendorf.

Day 3: (Eft-)Hellendorf - Mettlach

about 19 km
Over winding paths to the imposing panorama from the lookout Cloef above the Saar Bend. From there, across brooks and stone formations into the ceramic town of Mettlach.

Day 4: Mettlach - Britten

about 13 km
Through the valley of the rippling Saarhölz Brook and over broad mountain meadows to Britten.

Day 5: Britten - Losheim

Through endless meadows to the ascent over the Rotenbach Valley and to the idyllic Losheim See

Day 6: Losheim - Weiskirchen

Grand panoramas and steep, stony climbs and descents through an impressive rocky landscape to the Weiskirchen spa.

Day 7: Weiskirchen - Grimburg

Through extensive forests, partly with original growth, on to the hill meadows of the Hochwald. Then across the deeply cut Wadrill to the Grimburg hilltop castle.

Day 8: Grimburg - Hermeskeil

Through the undisturbed Wadrill Valley to the Keller Steg. On paths with beautiful panoramas over natural meadows and fields into the town of Hermeskeil.

Day 9: Hermeskeil – Neuhütten

Through the Forstel Brook Valley to the Prims Valley Reservoir to Nonnweiler and from there into the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. Across the 33 ft/10 m walls of the Celtic Ring Wall Otzenhausen, past old border stones at the Dollberge Kamm to Neuhütten.

Day 10: Neuhütten – Hunsrückhaus

Over grassy paths to the Tiroler Stein. From there through dense forests across the highest elevation in Rhineland-Palatinate, the Erbeskopf, to the Hunsrückhaus (with transfer).

Day 11: Hunsrückhaus – Morbach

about 14 km
Over soft forest ground, past two old railroad viaducts, with a view onto the heights above the Moselle to Morbach.

Day 12: Morbach – Kempfeld

about 18 km
The way leads over wooden walkways through the Ortelsbruch high bog, through the Idarwald forest to the Krahloch Geopark. Then to the Wildenburger Kopf with the Celtic fortified refuge and the outlook tower, 72 ft/22 m high.

Day 13: Kempfeld – Idar-Oberstein

about 20 km
Through the impressive heaps of blocks of the Mörscheid Burr with a view as far as into the Palatinate to the end of the hike in Idar-Oberstein.
